ABC Challenge R is for Rain Nails

Hi everyone! I'm happy I'm back. I took a week off to recover from my accident. It really gave me an opportunity to reflect (among other fun things...keep reading).Thank you all for your sweet words and comments! It was really touching to see them all :)

Since we had a rainy day down here in SoCal yesterday, which is pretty strange for May, I decided to do some rain nail art! I'm not totally happy with how these turned out but I still want to share this with you all. :) I definitely need to work on my nail art skills.

For this mani I used Sephora by OPI Metro Chic as my base color. I wore this for a day and was impressed by how shiny it was without top coat! For the clouds I used a combination of a white polish, Sally Hansen Gray by Gray, China Glaze Immortal, and Mischevious. The raindrops are Sally Hansen Gray by Gray which is really quite a blue-gray color to me.

Below is Sephora by OPI Metro Chic on its own. Three coats plus top coat.

You all know how much I love my gray polishes, so this was right up my alley. I really can't get enough of them haha!

In other news, I made a lightbox (finally!) I've been meaning to do this since I started this blog almost 6 months ago and finally got around to it. Yayyy! These were actually my first pictures in the lightbox an you can tell I haven't gotten used to it yet. But I am loving it so far.

Also, I have been thinking about an absolutely insane idea to swatch all of my polishes that I currently own. Yes, all of them. I don't know if it is even going to happen but I'd like to know what you guys think. I've added a poll on the right so take it really fast and let me know!

Be sure to check out all of the other R manis! I've seen some awesome stuff so far!

  1. I really like these!! Cute idea for R. I would love to swatch my whole collection too, but I can't find time to swatch the "untried" much less all of them. I think it's a great idea, and Good Luck!!

  3. I am currently swatching all my collection, too. I bought swatchicles (swatch sticks) on ebay for all of them plus extras for the new entries ;) I prefer swatch sticks over swatch wheels because I want to order them by colour. And if I buy a new shade I can insert the new stick where it's meant to be. It's a long journey honestly because I have nearly 1,000 polishes but I love to have all of them organized!
And for the ABC, I love the rain idea you had!

  5. Rain!! Great job!! I would never swatch my whole collection, it would take the fun out of finding something I aren't worn yet!!!

  9. I'm swatching my entire collection by color and on nail wheels. I also have dedicated wheels for my holo polishes.
They're nice, but honestly I wish I had bought swatchicles!
Anyway, lovely manicure - today has been rainy here in Italy too so it's very appropriate for my mood! ^^

  10. It would take me years to swatch all my polish, but kudos to you for going for it! I thought about rain for 'R' but couldn't figure out how to do it. I like what you've done with yours...so cute!

  13. Great idea! It never even occurred to me to use Rain for R - it's only rained here just about every day for over a week. I like how it turned out.
