Sally Hansen Designer Collection Spring 2013- Butterscotch and Soy Latte

Good morning everyone! Today I am back with, yet again, more polishes from the Sally Hansen Designer Collection for Spring 2013. Be sure to check out Green Tea and Resurrection here as well as Dune and Angel Bite here.  These are the last 2 (for now) that I have. I have loved all the polishes from this collection so far and I'm loving these two as well!

Butterscotch is a bright, sunny yellow creme. The formula on this was FANTASTIC! 2 easy coats. Yellows are notoriously streaky and hard to work with, but I had zero problems with this. This is for sure my new go to yellow! Perfect for spring and summer. This is by designer Tracy Reese.

Essie Chinchilly

Hello everyone! I hope you are all having a great day! :) Today I am posting one of my all time favorite polishes, Essie Chinchilly.

Chinchilly is a light gray creme. This is 3 thin coats, 2 thicker ones is usually okay. I really love this polish. You have no idea! My bottle is about half full from using it so much! :) This is the polish that started my love affair with Essie so its pretty darn special.

Sally Hansen Designer Collection Spring 2013- Dune and Angel Bite

Happy Memorial Day everyone!!

Today I'm back with more polishes from Sally Hansen's Designer Collection. What can I say, I'm really loving this collection. I reviewed Green Tea and Resurrection here so be sure to check those out as well!

First up is Angel Bite, a deep vampy red crelly. The formula on this was pretty good... a bit thin but not bad by any means. Totally opaque in two coats. I liked this a lot, surprisingly. Even though it is totally not springy, I think its great. It did look a bit brown in the shade, which I thought was kind of odd, but it never looked black and you could definitely tell it was red in the sun. Also, no staining! This one is by designer Prabal Gurung. For all you fashionistas, this was the shade used in her Spring 2013 fashion show for the blood drip manicures on all the models.

Sally Hansen Resurrection and Green Tea- Spring 2013 Designer Collection

Happy weekend, lovelies! Today I have two really pretty polishes to show you guys! One is a blue which totally surprises me, but I am totally in love. These are both LE polish from the Spring 2013 Designer Collection. Resurrection is by designer Prabal Gurung and Green Tea is by Tracy Reese. Sally Hansen does a designer collection every so often and I always love their polishes. Some of these are rereleases (pretty sure Green Tea is one of them). These two are both really beautiful, I may be going back for a couple others (Dune, Butterscotch, Angel Bite, and possibly White Out). There are also a few others in the collection called First Kiss, Soy Latte, Apparition, and Hot Lava for a total of 10 shades! There really is something for everyone. You can see bottle shots and display shots at Nouveau Cheap.

This beauty is Sally Hansen Resurrection  from the Complete Salon Manicure line. Totally opaque in one coat, but this is two out of habit. The formula on this was fantastic. One of the best I've used all year! Seriously though. If you like grayed out blues then you need this. You all know how I love my grays so this is perfect for me. I wore this with an accent of Sally Hansen Shoot the Moon which is part of their permanent line.

My Picks From the China Glaze Sunsational Summer 2013 Collection: Heat Index and Highlight of My Summer

Happy Wednesday! It's been really hot here so I thought it would be appropriate to start pulling out the neons for summer! Yay! These were my 2 picks (so far) from the China Glaze Sunsational collection

Heat Index is a neon pink jelly. This freaked out my camera! It is way more neon in real life. The thing I didn't like about this was the formula. This was 4 coats and you could still see my nail line quite clearly. The color is great though, and I want to try this for a jelly sandwich.

Glequins!

Hello ladies! Today I have something new to me to share with you! Glequins are basically large pieces of glitter that can be manually placed on the nail. They are super blingy and I am totally in love with them.

For my first ever mani with glequins I started out with a base of SpaRitual Native Rock with SpaRitual Driftwood as an accent nail. Side note, these are both very pretty on their own and I wore that mani for a day. Native Rock is more purple in real life but it does have a very strong gray undertone. Then I placed the glitter in different designs on each nail. This takes a lot less time than it looks like.

ABC Challenge Q is for Butter London Queen Vic

Hi everyone! Sorry for my lack of posting these past couple days. I missed you all! Unfortunately I got in a pretty bad car accident the other day. My car is totaled and the guy who came to tow it was surprised I was walking away from that accident. So I am insanely thankful that I am totally okay. I found out the guy who hit me was texting while driving. So PLEASE don't text and drive. You can really hurt other people and yourself so just don't do it. Nothing is more important than someone's life. Anyway on to the polish!

I only have one Q polish in my entire stash, and she is a beauty. Butter London Queen Vic, is a gorgeous plummy color with lots of pink in it. It kind of changes with the light. It can look anything from plum to maroon depending on the light.

Essie Resort Collection 2013 Swatches+Comparions

Hi lovlies! I want to share one of my favorite collections so far this year (my other being Orly Hope and Freedom). This is a rather small collection but all four polishes pack a punch and are pretty unique. All of these had a great formula, although I've seen other people say otherwise. I do in general like Essie's formula of their polishes for the most part though. And I like the brush though a lot of people find it rather small. Enough with the rambling and onto the pretty polish!

First up is Essie Come Here! (yes, with the exclamation mark). This to me was a bright red leaning coral. I love corals so for me this was a winner. Two easy coats.

ABC Challenge- M is for Matte

I'm back! I know, I know I've been missing for ages. Finals took over my life and then I got super sick over spring break. We're talking bed for days. But I am back and I really missed you guys! I've finally started feeling better and work and school have slowed down a bit so nails are making their way back into my schedule (yay!) I know I missed a couple other ABC Challenge posts so I'll be adding them onto this post.

Anyway, onto the nails.....

For letter K I used Spoiled Kickin' the Habit, a neon fuschia. I was not a big fan of this at all. The brush absolutely sucked. It was more of just a big bushy thing rather than a brush. Also, depending on which way you turned the bottle it was a different color. And the color in the bottle was different than the color on the nail. I shook it up so much and I still felt like the pigment wouldn't mix up or something. Ugh.

Orly Hope and Freedom Collection Swatches!

Happy Tuesday! Hope you guys all had a lovely weekend and didn't have too much trouble waking up with Daylight Savings taking away an hour of sleep. Today I have swatches of a really fun collection that I have been dying to find ever since I saw swatches of it. For all of these I used no basecoat (spoiler: no staining on any of them!) and one coat of Sally  Hansen Insta-Dri as my top coat.

Orly Melodious Utopia- 4 coats. Officially my favorite yellow! I loved this so much! The formula is not streaky at all but it is a bit sheer. It was pretty opaque in 3 coats, I just did 4 so you could see the full effect. This has tons of pink and orange shimmer in it, making it unique (in my collection at least)

Sinful Colors Paparazzi/ Almost Famous Collection Swatches

Hi guys! So its just now hitting me that this will be my first post with swatches of an entire collection. So please bear with me... if you see any room for improvement or have any tips/comments let me know! Hopefully this is helpful for you. I'll start by saying that all of these swatches are one coat of glitter over a base color. They were all very packed with glitter with no fishing or dabbing required! Truly a joy to apply and wear, I think these are great for a glitter newbie or someone who already loves glitter polishes! No more words, on to the pretties! Warning: this is really pic heavy...hope you enjoy!

Sinful Colors Showstopping over Pure Ice Superstar!

Showstopping is a mix of small pink glitter with a ton of holo hex glitter. Very pretty!

Insane Morning + Butter London Trout Pout

Good morning everyone! Its been a really crazy morning here in Orange County. A shooting spree occurred between 5 and 6am. The community that I live in is usually very quiet with few events and almost no crime. We get complaints if we can be heard talking from outside the house after 11. This morning I was shocked to hear that a woman had been shot just one street over from where I live. The shooter then went on to shoot 5 more in a neighboring city. My heart goes out to all who have been affected by this tragedy. No one deserves to get shot in their own home. No one. It really breaks my heart that these things have been happening so often, but now it has become scary that it is occurring so close to home. We don't know yet if it was random or planned, or who the victims and shooter are but it is scary to think that this could easily have been me or someone I know. I pray every day that God will keep us safe. I am at school now, but all I want to do is go home and hug my kid brother and sister. I know that this has gone to a kind of dark place but I just want to keep you guys updated on my life, both relating to nails and not relating to them.

To brighten things up a bit, I have one of my favorite Butter London's to show you! :) Trout Pout is a bright, almost neon, salmony coral color. So pretty.

ABC Challenge- E is for Essie Pretty Edgy

Hi everyone! Today I'm back with all the lovely ladies participating in the ABC Challenge. Quick post today because my laptop is about to die! As you know, for this challenge we are to show a nail polish shade, brand, or nail art technique that starts with the letter of the week. This week we are on letter E so of course, I had to choose an Essie polish. Essie is one of my favorite polish brands even though I know a lot of people don't really love them. While Essie is known for their pinks and soft shades, they make a mean green polish! Seriously though this and Mojito Madness from last summer's collection are two of my favorite greens in my collection.

My First Butter London! Butter London Macbeth

Happy Monday everyone! Hope you all had a lovely weekend! I have an extremely busy week (its midterms week already) so my posts will probably all be pretty short but I do have some exciting things coming up this week! For my first Butter London, I was actually looking for Trout Pout as I am on a coral kick lately. When I couldn't find it I was so disappointed, then I saw Macbeth. It was love at first sight.
